These are a Few of My Favorite Things! {Day 3 Launch}

Hello friends! Thanks for joining me for day 3 of my blog launch! I hope you have been enjoying the posts each day and have been entering the rafflecopters!
Today, I thought I'd share a few of my favorite things!

I'm also giving away a $75 Teachers Pay Teachers Gift Card so you can buy a few of YOUR favorite teaching things!

COFFEE IS MY MOST FAVORITE THING EVER.

I also love anything mango flavored. Smoothies, cake, ice cream, candy, fruit, etc. All of it.

My most favorite color is pink! I've been known to buy things just because they were pink.

Wine and I have a nice relationship. Especially reds.

Did someone say glitter? Yes, I love glitter. No matter the question, the answer is always glitter.

And of course, technology. I love technology! Except when it doesn't work, then I don't like it so much.

I am also a Google Certified Educator! I love all things Google and I am excited to bring my class this year completely paperless!
The district has purchased Chromebooks for the students and they will be carrying them around all day and working with them in every class.

I've created this little handy display to help my kiddos out with the different functions of a Chromebook.

Grab it for yourself HERE

UPDATE: When I saved the file as a PDF, apparently some of the words shifted under the Three Keys shortcuts - but it's fixed now!

I bought some plastic stand up frames from Wal-Mart for $0.94!! I'm going to put them around the lab so the students will have easy access. I'm also printing out a large poster version to hang on the wall.

I also have this little online interactive sentence scramble for you. It combines two of my favorite things: technology and PINK!

The kids drag the words to the boxes to make a sentence. It's done completely online and they can complete it independently! No copies for you to make and prep.

Well that's it! I hope you will enter my giveaway and good luck!

Thoughts on Thursday! A Monthly Linky {Go Noodle}

Hello again fabulous friends on the Internet! I am so happy to once again bring you a giveaway as part of my new blog launch!
I am also so excited to introduce a new monthly linky my fantastic friend Krisit over at Pelicans and Pipsqueaks and I are bringing to you this year.
I met Kristi two years ago at a local teaching conference and we have become such good friends since then!
We will just be chatting with you about some of our thoughts on different things. It won't always be about school related stuff, sometimes just random musings!

This month, we bring you our Thoughts on GoNoodle!

I LOVE GONOODLE!

And it's not just because I am a GoNoodle Ambassador for Louisiana.

This free, online program has helped to bring many brain breaks to my kiddos throughout the year. You ever have that kid (or kids) that just you can tell is about to lose his or her concentration and just needs to get it all out?!?!?
Yes, I think we all have experienced that (even with ourselves!).
GoNoodle gets those kiddos up and moving with short, focused brain breaks.
They have everything from high, intensive workouts to calming yoga and stretching. The breaks last about 1 minute to 20 minute Indoor Recesses!
Yep. On all those rainy days when the kiddos are cooped up without access to a playground they can jump and stretch and move in place and get those wiggles out.

And apparently it works well on Snow Days - though I am unfamiliar with this word "snow" since the coldest it gets here is like 50 degrees so I guess it's like rain days but colder.
Hey Hot Dog!

Anyhoo, GoNoodle has been a classroom staple in my classroom for years. We are always taking brain breaks and making sure our brains are recharged and ready to keep on learning.

The kids are always much more focused after we take our breaks that they participate more and pay better attention.

It is great in between tests on Fridays! Or right before a test to calm and focus.

This is how we Pop See Ko!

If you would like to learn more, check out my presentation found HERE or visit www.gonoodle.com
to sign up for free and get your body moving!

That's it for today's Thoughts on Thursday. Make sure to enter the rafflecopter below for a chance to win some Go Noodle swag!
You'll get some pencils and stickers, a lanyard, a My class is a Dance Party t-shirt, and an awesome GoNoodle bag!

We are happy to bring you this collaboration and link up and hope you will join us this fall. Here is a list of dates and topics:

Hello! Welcome to Tech and Teachability!

Hi guys! I am so beyond excited to launch my new blog Tech and Teachability!
This is so unbelievably amazing and I can't wait to share all sorts of fabulous new things with you!!
As you may or may not be aware, I am formerly known as Pride and Primary, but....................

I got a new job!! My principal has asked me to head up our school's Video Production/Media Arts department and I just couldn't say no!
A name change was required since I'm not "technically" primary anymore.
I will miss my first grade babies, but as the program gets off its feet I will be offering technology classes to all of the grades K-6. Pride and Primary will not be going anywhere, but I have transferred all of those posts to this blog.

So here we are! New name. New blog. New job. New school year. But I am making it the best school year EVER!

I will be teaching sixth graders all about Media Arts and Digital Literacy and Video Production. You can read about me freaking out over completely enjoying this new job {HERE}. I will also be teaching 5th and 6th keyboarding, and later on will be teaching computer skills to all grades eventually. We shall see. My school, Mayfair Laboratory School, is seriously the best school ever. We have the best team and we are the most fun.

With the new school year and the new blog, I hope to teach you lots of new things and to keep you entertained!

Here's some things to know about me:

I am from the great state of Louisiana!
I love Louisiana, the food, my Tigers, my Saints, and all things in between! I currently live in Baton Rouge where I've been for the past three years. I grew up in Alexandria, about 2 hours northwest of here, which is a smallish city on the banks of the Red River. If you've ever driven south from Dallas or Arkansas to Baton Rouge or Nola, chances are you passed through Alexandria. I taught at a small private school there until I heard about the job at Mayfair Lab and I packed up and headed to our state capital. Never gonna leave now!
I love coffee. I drink it all the time. All. The. Time. In fact, if it's anytime before 6 pm and I don't have coffee, I am more than likely trying to signal you that's something is wrong.
If you follow me on Instagram, you know my obsession with coffee. Mmmmmm.......

I have a 15 year old daughter, Carly Summer, who is the joy of my life. She keeps me on my toes!
She will be a SOPHOMORE this year which I still can't believe.
Yeah, she loves Benedict Cumberbatch and all things Sherlock.

I also like wine and I'm totally not sorry about it.
I am also a major geek. Total nerd.
Carly and I go to all the Marvel movies the day they come out - usually midnight showings (on school nights, yes) and we have soooooooo much fun!

I also love Game of Thrones and Gilmore Girls and The Flash and Arrow and Pretty Little Liars - I  may have a slight obsession with Netflix.....

But of course I have it under control. Completely. I do occasionally go outside, like to go to work and stuff.

Alright, finally getting to the point of all this:
